Toymaker: Threads of Joy Launches Successful Kickstarter Campaign
"Toymaker: Threads of Joy," a game from Salamanca developed by Uprising Studios, recently launched its funding campaign on Kickstarter. Shortly after starting, the project surpassed its initial goal, demonstrating significant community interest with several weeks still remaining.
Set in Salamanca in 1911, the game invites players to revitalize a humble plushie shop that has seen better days. Players will craft adorable toys using various materials and colors, with their skill level influencing the value of their creations. Exploring different city locations will be essential for gathering more resources for the shop and uncovering secrets related to the game's story.
This title marks Uprising Studios' debut game. Interested players previously had the opportunity to try a demo during the February Steam Next Fest, which remains available. Leyre Granero, lead artist for the project, explained that responding to demo feedback "involved a lot of testing, work, and polishing," resulting in a version the team is proud of.
Granero states that Toymaker is currently in full production. The most important systems and visual elements are complete, and the focus is now on implementing the narrative with the assets that have been created. The Kickstarter campaign aims to fund the final stretch of development, which is well underway, "lacking only some important assets for the final part of the game and a lot of polishing," Granero adds. After Kickstarter, Uprising Studios plans to continue with "our initial plan," says Celer Gutiérrez, Toymaker's director, and publish the game "throughout 2026."
"Toymaker: Threads of Joy" also featured a stand at the first edition of the BCN Game Fest (formerly Indie Dev Day). The studio was able to gather direct feedback from the public regarding their experience with the game.
