Sant Jordi Jam Celebrates Its Third Edition

The Sant Jordi Jam proudly announces its third annual edition, establishing itself as a pivotal event for video game creation and the promotion of Catalan culture. This game jam aims to cultivate collaboration and unleash creativity without the pressures of competition, inviting developers to engage in a unique digital gathering.

A distinctive tradition of the Sant Jordi Jam requires participants to submit a virtual rose alongside their game. This rose serves as a symbolic cultural vessel, designed to hold various artistic expressions such as illustrations, songs, or poems, thus expanding upon the rich spirit of the Sant Jordi festivity.

This year's guiding theme, "tota pedra fa paret" (every stone makes a wall), underscores the profound importance of community and collective effort—a fitting motto for an event centered on collaboration. While the primary focus remains on Catalan-speaking culture, teams are actively encouraged to develop their games using their preferred language.

The 2026 edition of the Sant Jordi Jam is scheduled from April 1st to April 22nd, culminating just before the beloved festivity itself. To mark its conclusion, an in-person closing event will be hosted on April 24th at the Sala d’Actes del Centre Cívic Cotxeres de Sants in Barcelona. This gathering will provide an invaluable opportunity for developers and enthusiasts to connect, share insights, and explore the innovative game proposals. Organizers anticipate this edition will feature approximately thirty new games.
