Tito Ortiz, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, has stated his desire to apologize to UFC CEO Dana White for their historical animosity. The relationship between Ortiz and White has been complex, evolving from White managing Ortiz to a nearly realized boxing match between them.

White has been open about his negative feelings toward Ortiz during and after his UFC career. Ortiz cited his difficult relationship with White as a primary reason for leaving the UFC on several occasions.

In a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ortiz discussed his current standing with White. "I've tried to reach out [to Dana] a few times. I've tried doing interviews to apologize, just saying that I'm sorry for what I did," Ortiz said.

He admitted to saying things about White he regrets, influenced by others, and making poor decisions. "At the end of the day, I shouldn't have to worry about my bills being paid because I've busted my a-- for 16 years for the UFC and helped them get on the track of where they are right now," Ortiz added. "I'm thankful for the track they gave me, and the opportunities, but it's a double-edged sword. I messed up; it's part of the deal."

Ortiz expressed hope for reconciliation: "If that bridge could ever be hashed back together between Dana and me, I'd love it. But I know Dana. He's not that type of guy."
