Former UFC Middleweight Champ Proposes BMF Title Changes, Suggests Holloway vs. Green

A former UFC middleweight champion has voiced his dissatisfaction with the current BMF titleholder, Charles Oliveira.

Despite Oliveira’s dominant victory to claim the BMF strap, his performance was criticized by many fans and analysts for opting for a wrestling-heavy approach rather than engaging in a striking battle against Max Holloway. This has led some to suggest the BMF belt has lost its meaning and should be retired.

However, Luke Rockhold has different ideas for the future of the BMF title.

Luke Rockhold Advocates for Max Holloway vs. King Green for the UFC BMF Title

During an appearance on the JAXXON Podcast, former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold put forth a bold proposal. Rockhold suggested that the UFC should strip Charles Oliveira of the BMF belt and instead have Max Holloway and MMA veteran King Green compete for it.

King Green is currently on a three-fight win streak. Most recently, at UFC 328, he secured a first-round submission victory over Jeremy Stephens, demonstrating that even at 39 years old, he remains a formidable competitor.

Rockhold, supporting the idea of a Green vs. Holloway BMF title fight, stated:

“I think you strip the belt from [Charles] Oliveira and you give it back to Max [Holloway] and make you two boys fight for the real BMF belt… You [King Green] deserve that, and Oliveira doesn’t deserve it. I like Oliveira as a fighter, but you don’t fight like that and get a BMF belt. You create a BMF belt to have a real fight.”

Green responded to the idea:

“I definitely got my eyes on the BMF. I want to do that.”
