FC Barcelona has revealed its latest unique jersey for the upcoming El Clasico match, this time emblazoned with the initials of American singer Olivia Rodrigo. This initiative is part of Barcelona’s ongoing partnership with Spotify, which has seen them replace the usual Spotify logo with designs from major artists during their high-profile clashes against Real Madrid.
Earlier this season, Ed Sheeran graced the front of the Barcelona shirt during their defeat to Real Madrid. Previously, the club has featured other prominent artists such as Drake, Rosalia, The Rolling Stones, Coldplay, and Travis Scott on their kits.
Olivia Rodrigo’s Initials to Adorn Barcelona’s Kit
The newest edition of this special collaboration features Rodrigo’s stylized initials, ‘OR’, prominently displayed on the front of Barcelona’s home kit. The club plans to release a limited run of 1,899 collectible shirts, along with 22 exact replicas and 11 signed by Rodrigo herself. The men’s team will wear the jersey during the El Clasico on May 10th, while the women’s team will sport it on May 6th. This special release coincides with Spotify’s promotional efforts for Rodrigo’s upcoming third album, slated for release on July 12th. Rodrigo is the eighth artist to have their presence featured on the Barcelona shirt since the partnership with Spotify commenced.

Olivia Rodrigo shared her thoughts on this unique collaboration via a statement released on the Barcelona website:
“Seeing ‘OR’ on a Barcelona jersey for El Clasico, I don’t even know how to process that. It’s been so fun seeing the jersey come to life and creating a full collection with Spotify and Barca. On top of that, getting to perform for the fans who’ve been listening since day one, in a city like Barcelona, is going to be so special. That’s everything to me. I cannot wait to see them.”
Barcelona has the opportunity to secure the La Liga title this weekend before the El Clasico if they defeat Osasuna and Real Madrid fails to win against Espanyol. Alternatively, they can clinch the league title against Real Madrid themselves.
