Barcelona is reportedly open to the possibility of selling winger Raphinha this summer, provided the Brazilian player is agreeable to a departure. Recent reports have resurfaced linking the star forward with a move to Saudi Arabia, which may be influenced by developments at the Camp Nou.
It has emerged that Saudi Arabian clubs have again identified Raphinha as a target for the upcoming transfer window, a recurring theme from the past two summers. Three Saudi clubs are said to be keen on signing the player and are expected to initiate discussions with his agent in the coming weeks.
Barcelona Willing to Consider Raphinha Sale
While acknowledging Raphinha’s importance to coach Hansi Flick’s plans, reports indicate that Barcelona would entertain offers for the player if he expresses a desire to leave. The club will not actively push for his sale, but a lucrative deal would be considered if Raphinha is tempted by a substantial contract offer.
Barcelona aims to fund their transfer activities through player sales this summer, ideally without disrupting the core of the team. However, if insufficient revenue is generated, the club may have to consider offloading key players. Raphinha is one such player, and Fermin Lopez is another, with reports suggesting a significant offer is already on the table for the latter.
Sporting Director Deco Has Preferences for Sales
The club’s preference is to offload players who are deemed less integral to the squad. Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde are mentioned as potential candidates for sale, along with Marc Casado, who has also been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia. Manchester United is reportedly interested in Balde, and agent Jorge Mendes is expected to play a crucial role in facilitating the departures of Balde and Casado.
Fermin Lopez Turned Down Offers Previously
Raphinha has consistently rejected any suggestions of a move to Saudi Arabia, and there is currently little indication he will change his stance. Similarly, Fermin Lopez, who was a target for Chelsea last summer, declined a move to the Premier League and subsequently signed a new contract with Barcelona.
