Rumors about a new game in the acclaimed Metro series have been circulating for days, and now it’s officially confirmed. Xbox announced yesterday a “First Look at the highly anticipated Metro 2039.” This preview event is scheduled to air on Thursday the 16th at 7:00 PM Spanish peninsular time.
This is significant not only because of the game itself – which is noteworthy for being an original story penned by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the author of the books, rather than an adaptation of existing material – but also due to the “First Look” format. This initiative from Microsoft appears to be a new approach to showcasing games, bringing them to the Xbox family without necessarily implying exclusivity.
