A significant matchup at ONE Fight Night 48 pits two experienced fighters against each other, a bout that could significantly alter their careers within the promotion.

Yu Yau Pui will face Marie McManamon in an atomweight Muay Thai contest. The event airs live on Friday, October 2nd, from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium. Yu began training Muay Thai at 18 for fitness, then had her first official fight at 22. She debuted in ONE Friday Fights in 2023, winning five consecutive matches to secure a US$100,000 contract. She defeated former ISKA and WBC Muay Thai World Champion Lara Fernandez in her main roster debut in 2024.

However, the 33-year-old has won only once in her last four fights. Following a knockout win over Anna Jaroonsak in Muay Thai five months ago, she moved to kickboxing, losing a close three-round decision to former K-1 Champion Kana Morimoto last August. She returns to Muay Thai with a professional record of 29-5.

Marie McManamon, 36, trains at London’s Knowlesy Academy alongside ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty and strawweight prospect Freddie Haggerty. She is recognized as one of the UK's top Muay Thai strikers, having dominated the domestic scene before her ONE Championship debut in 2025 against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues for the atomweight Muay Thai World Title.

That fight ended in a fourth-round TKO loss. Months later, McManamon lost a unanimous decision to two-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion Selina Flores, leaving her seeking a victory to re-establish herself as a serious contender in the division.
