Colby Covington Eyes RAF Rematches with Chimaev and Usman

Colby Covington sees two potential bouts that could generate significant buzz within the Real Fight (RAF) promotion.

Covington has found renewed purpose in freestyle wrestling following his MMA career. Recently, he secured a decisive 10-0 victory over former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. This win follows his earlier 5-3 defeat of Arman Tsarukyan in July. Covington believes a rematch with Khamzat Chimaev and a bout against former rival Kamaru Usman are compelling matchups for RAF.

Speaking to reporters after his RAF 13 match against Muhammad, Covington detailed his interest in facing Chimaev and Usman. He stated, "There's a long list of guys, and thankfully RAF has so much good talent to challenge and test myself. Of course, 'Marty Fakenewsman' (Kamaru Usman), we have unfinished business. That trilogy is a huge matchup. That's probably at the top of the list. 'Cumshot' (Khamzat) Chimaev is up there, but you know, we have to get on a weight plan. He can’t keep being unprofessional and missing weight or retiring again to the common cold."

Chimaev previously suggested he inadvertently revealed details of a potential RAF bout with Covington. It remains uncertain if this fight will materialize. Both fighters have exchanged words previously, and the promotion for such an event would likely attract considerable attention from MMA fans. It's also a question whether fans are eager to see Covington and Usman compete on the wrestling mats.

Usman defeated Covington twice during their UFC welterweight title reigns. In their first fight, Usman broke Covington's jaw for a TKO. He won the rematch via unanimous decision.
