‘My main objective shouldn’t be to motivate a Real Madrid player’ – Alvaro Arbeloa

Sports news » ‘My main objective shouldn’t be to motivate a Real Madrid player’ – Alvaro Arbeloa

Alvaro Arbeloa, a manager for Real Madrid, has stated that his primary role is not to motivate the players, as this should be an intrinsic quality they possess due to the high standards of the club. He also offered an update on the fitness of Eder Militao, who recently sustained an injury.

A recurring observation this season has been Real Madrid’s perceived dip in intensity in La Liga compared to their strong performances in the Champions League. When questioned about his strategy to energize the team for the crucial final stretch of the season, Arbeloa responded:

“My main objective shouldn’t be to motivate a Real Madrid player; they have very high standards for themselves. My objective is to prepare them for what awaits them on the pitch.”

Arbeloa: ‘Other factors are to blame for defeats’

Despite this assertion, it has been suggested that Los Blancos have, at times this season, appeared to be lacking in this very motivation.

“Other things must have happened; there are many aspects to address beyond just motivation. There will be other reasons why we haven’t won games, and I cannot absolve myself of responsibility for that. One must be exceptionally well-prepared, tactically, football-wise, at every level, and execute many things correctly.”

Real Madrid’s Academy Integration

A notable positive aspect of Arbeloa’s management thus far has been the development and integration of several academy players. Thiago Pitarch, in particular, has been prominent, starting in both legs of their Champions League Round of 16 tie against Manchester City. However, their first-team involvement has seen a slight decrease with the return of key players like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham from injury.

“The young players have contributed, and they have demonstrated their capability in the first team. This is one of the most positive outcomes of this season. We’ve seen them perform very well, as evidenced by their performances in the Youth League and with Castilla. My confidence in them will always remain unwavering.”

Kylian Mbappe’s Social Media Activity and Eder Militao’s Fitness

In unrelated news, Kylian Mbappe recently generated headlines by ‘liking’ an Instagram post that suggested Jose Mourinho’s potential return as Real Madrid’s manager next season. Mbappe himself had previously stated he was not focusing on his future role.

“Man, no [it doesn’t worry me]. I don’t care if he likes Mourinho, Julia Roberts, or anyone else.”

More immediate concern surrounds Eder Militao, who was forced off the field against Alaves before halftime on Tuesday. An official update on the nature of his injury has not yet been provided.

“He is going to have a scan now, but it does not appear to be serious. We will await the results of this test.”

Real Madrid will play against Real Betis at La Cartuja on Friday night in La Liga, aiming to narrow the points gap to Barcelona to six before Barcelona’s match against Getafe.
