Movsar Evloev Calls Jean Silva a ‘Liar’ Over Title Shot Claims; Manager Praises Performance

Sports news » Movsar Evloev Calls Jean Silva a ‘Liar’ Over Title Shot Claims; Manager Praises Performance

Following Jean Silva’s recent assertions, Movsar Evloev has publicly responded. Last weekend, Silva, known as “Lord,” stated his intention to face current two-time UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski next. He further claimed that UFC executives Hunter Campbell and Dana White had invited him to UFC London specifically to sign a fight contract post-event.

During the UFC London event, Silva was observed interacting with Campbell, reportedly handing over documents.

Meanwhile, Movsar Evloev, the top-ranked UFC featherweight contender, solidified his bid for a title opportunity with a majority decision victory over Lerone Murphy on Saturday. In the post-fight press conference, when questioned about Silva’s audacious claims, the undefeated Russian emphatically stated, “He [Jean Silva] is just lying.”

MMA Manager Lauds Movsar Evloev

Prior to UFC London, Movsar Evloev’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, had emphasized the necessity of a decisive finish against Lerone Murphy for Evloev to secure the next title shot. Despite not achieving a knockout, technical knockout, or submission, Evloev delivered an engaging performance. He deviated from his characteristic wrestling-centric strategy, opting instead to exchange strikes with the formidable knockout artist Murphy throughout much of their 25-minute bout.

Earlier today, Abdelaziz took to social media to commend Evloev, noting that the promotion was highly satisfied with his recent display. Abdelaziz remarked, “The landscape has shifted for aspiring fighters. Victory alone no longer suffices. It’s about your fighting style, the statement you make, and how you demonstrate your prowess as a well-rounded fighter. Movsar exemplified this on Saturday night. I can confidently say everyone is pleased. The UFC is content, and they have expressed significant praise for his performance, which I am very thankful for.”
