UFC Confirms Rescheduled Joshua Van vs. Tatsuro Taira Flyweight Title Bout for UFC 328
The highly anticipated flyweight title encounter between Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira, initially set as the co-main event for UFC 327, faced an eleventh-hour cancellation. This setback was due to an injury sustained by Van, preventing him from making his first title defense as planned.
Consequently, the main event for UFC 327 remains the clash for the vacant light heavyweight title between Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg. The co-main event slot for UFC 327 has now been filled by a light heavyweight bout featuring Azamat Murzakanov against Paulo Costa.
However, fans received positive news during the recent UFC Vegas 115 broadcast: the Van vs. Taira title fight has been officially rebooked for UFC 328 in May. This event will be headlined by the middleweight championship showdown between current champion Khamzat Chimaev and challenger Sean Strickland. The rescheduled flyweight title bout will serve as the co-main event for UFC 328.
Despite this brief postponement, the flyweight champion's return to action is only a month away.
