Parker Porter Challenges Andrei Arlovski for BKFC Heavyweight Title
Andrei Arlovski, a world heavyweight champion once again, is now the target of Parker Porter, a prominent contender in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) heavyweight division. Porter, an former UFC heavyweight, recently secured an emphatic victory over Haze Wilson at BKFC Mohegan Sun on March 28th, rapidly ascending the ranks in bare-knuckle combat.
Porter was present at BKFC KnuckleMania VI when Arlovski unseated Ben Rothwell to claim the heavyweight crown, doing so in just his second fight. Porter expressed admiration for Arlovski's championship performance, stating:
"He was absolutely dominant; the best we’ve seen him look in a long time. He appeared phenomenally better than in his debut fight. While Ben Rothwell might not have been at his best, it clearly worked to Arlovski’s advantage. He looked sharp, explosive, and fast."
"You can expect someone with his experience and resources to excel in any endeavor, be it BKFC, MMA, or anything else. The man possesses incredible knowledge, experience, and accomplishments. I truly hope I get the chance to fight him. It would be an honor, and I want that belt regardless of who holds it. Fighting Arlovski for the title would be a dream match for me, so I hope he keeps it if he defends it before I get there."
Andrei Arlovski and Parker Porter: A Predestined Clash in BKFC
For Parker Porter, the potential clash with Andrei Arlovski isn't solely about the championship belt. Porter indicated a long-standing desire to test his skills against the combat sports veteran, noting that their paths nearly crossed during his UFC tenure before Arlovski's retirement from the promotion. Porter remarked:
"Absolutely. We almost fought once or twice when I was in the UFC, before he retired. The fact that he's now in BKFC, he's the champion, and I'm aiming for the belt, it almost feels predestined for us to finally meet. I can't wait for that to be a title fight."
Porter also shared his observations on the growth of the BKFC heavyweight division, which continues to attract surging talents and former champions. As a ranked contender, he believes the division is thriving:
"The league is attracting many super talented fighters and gaining significant momentum. I was asked if BKFC caters more to older fighters like myself versus young prospects. I think because of BKFC's rising popularity and frequent events, younger fighters are now seeing it as a viable career path. Previously, it was so new that primarily experienced veterans were willing to take the leap. With this shift, I anticipate an even greater influx of talented heavyweights entering the sport."
