Josh Hokit’s Bold Claim About Alex Pereira’s Catchphrase: “Chama Means F*** You”

Sports news ยป Josh Hokit’s Bold Claim About Alex Pereira’s Catchphrase: “Chama Means F*** You”

Josh Hokit has once again taken shots at former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira. Hokit initially targeted “Poatan” during the UFC Freedom 250 press conference, which led to a strong reaction from Ilia Topuria. He later reiterated his call-out of the Brazilian.

Alex Pereira relinquished his light heavyweight title earlier this year and is scheduled to face Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight championship this weekend at UFC Freedom 250.

Meanwhile, Hokit is set to fight Derrick Lewis on the same night. The American fighter is confident in his ability to knock out Lewis and then wants to challenge “Poatan.”

Josh Hokit Speculates on the True Meaning of Alex Pereira’s “Chama”

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Josh Hokit once again called out Alex Pereira, stating:

“Alex Pereira, I want to chama on Alex Pereiraโ€™s mama. Omg, he said mama, he said mama. He said he said he is gonna chama on his mama.”

“Chama” can have various meanings, including “call” and “flame.” However, Alex Pereira has popularized the phrase, using it in a context that translates to “let’s go.” Hokit, however, doubts that “Poatan” has fully disclosed the true meaning of “Chama” to his fans. The 28-year-old added:

“What does Chama mean? What if Alex was playing all of us, and Chama means like ‘fu*k you’ or something the whole time? Imagine that. Man, what a legend.”

During the same interview, Hokit suggested that while most of Pereira’s fights are entertaining, he has primarily faced strikers in the UFC so far.

“I want Pereira. Heโ€™s a legend in the sport. Or at least thatโ€™s what everyoneโ€™s saying. I just think he came into the sport at the right time with a bunch of strikers. I donโ€™t take away the whole rivalry with [Israel] Adesanya. That was great. But everyone else was just favorable matchups. It was all strikers. But at least he was able to perform a certain way and get those opponents out of there, and all of his fights are pretty fun to watch.”

Finally, Josh Hokit expressed his desire to use Pereira’s name to boost his own profile, stating that “Poatan” has never faced an opponent like him.

“I would like to also use his name to catapult my name. I think heโ€™s never faced a guy like me.”
