Sports news ยป Jon Jones Becomes Co-Owner of Dirty Boxing Championship

Jon Jones is partnering with Mike Perry. Dirty Boxing Championship announced that the UFC heavyweight champion and former light heavyweight champion has become a co-owner of the combat sports organization.

โ€œI was hooked from the first show,โ€ Jones said in the announcement. โ€œI believe this is going to be a powerhouse of combat sports. Iโ€™m proud to sign my name next to it.โ€

This move continues Jonesโ€™ working relationship with managers Malki and Abe Kawa, who founded Dirty Boxing alongside Perry in 2024. The Dirty Boxing ruleset features fighters competing in five-ounce gloves, with elbows and limited ground-and-pound allowed.

Dirty Boxing holds its next event Saturday, headlined by former UFC middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero fighting Ras Hylton in a heavyweight bout. Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski competes in the co-main event against Terrance Hodges.

Jones is expected to attend Saturdayโ€™s show in Miami.

Jonesโ€™ UFC career is currently on hold as fans wait to see if he will agree to a fight with interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. โ€œBonesโ€ has dismissed Aspinall as a contender, and is more interested in a fight with Alex Pereira, who recently lost his light heavyweight title to Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313.
