UFC commentator Joe Rogan has put forward a bold idea: he believes a highly anticipated featherweight clash between Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev should take place at the White House.
Movsar Evloev recently secured a hard-fought victory over Lerone Murphy in a closely contested featherweight bout at UFC London’s O2 Arena. Evloev’s performance was enough to earn him the judges’ decision, and his win has significantly boosted his claim for a shot at the UFC featherweight championship in his next outing.
Current featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski has also indicated his readiness to defend his title against Evloev. This stance is consistent with Volkanovski’s reputation as a fighting champion who consistently seeks out tough challenges.
For Joe Rogan, the inclusion of Volkanovski vs. Evloev on the rumored UFC White House card makes perfect sense, seeing it as an “extra attraction” that would elevate the event’s profile.
Rogan’s Vision for Volkanovski vs Evloev
During his “Fight Companion” podcast, Rogan highly praised Evloev’s recent showing, particularly his striking capabilities. “The Evloev thing was very impressive. The fact that he was able to stand with him was very impressive to me,” Rogan commented, passionately advocating for the Volkanovski vs. Evloev bout. He emphasized, “After this? It has to be, or something is terrible in the world. White House lawn, letโs go.” Rogan suggested scheduling the fight for June, allowing Evloev a few months to recover from his March contest, stating, “Come on, spice that card up, baby.” He also acknowledged the significant pressure Evloev likely faces to secure finishes through striking.
