Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe openly acknowledges that facing criticism is an inherent part of playing for the illustrious club. While the Frenchman has been transparent about his recovery from knee problems during the international break, his compatibility with teammate Vinicius Junior has recently drawn public attention.

This season, Mbappe has arguably been Real Madrid's most consistent player, surpassed only by Thibaut Courtois, and has been pivotal in a significant portion of their goals. However, his absence due to injury unexpectedly coincided with what many consider Los Blancos' best period of the season, a time when Vinicius Junior also hit peak form. This unexpected timing has sparked debate regarding Mbappe's overall influence on the team's collective play.

Mbappe's Unwavering Focus on Real Madrid

Amidst uncertainty surrounding his knee injury, some speculation suggested Mbappe might be proceeding cautiously with an eye on the upcoming World Cup. However, in an interview with Telefoot, as reported by Diario AS, Mbappe firmly denied these claims.

"In Spain, they're a little worried about that, that I won’t play… and that I’ll go straight to the World Cup," Mbappe stated. "The best way to prepare is to win everything first with Real Madrid."

Embracing Criticism: 'Why Should I Be the Exception?'

Regarding the scrutiny he has faced since his arrival in the Spanish capital, Mbappe affirmed that such reactions were entirely predictable.

He elaborated on the unique nature of playing for Real Madrid: "Real Madrid is like a religion for people in Spain; they’re very passionate, and there’s a lot of talk and speculation, sometimes justified, sometimes. You have to know how to deal with criticism because everyone at Real Madrid has been criticised. Ronaldo, Di Stefano… so I don’t see why I should be an exception. You simply have to stay calm, concentrate on what you have to do, and tell yourself how you can improve your performance on the pitch."

Mbappe boasts an impressive record of 38 goals and six assists in 35 appearances this season. As he returns to Real Madrid duty, particular interest will lie in how coach Carlo Ancelotti plans to reintegrate him into a team that has recently adapted. Brahim Diaz, for instance, has often been preferred as a partner for Vinicius in front of a four-man midfield during Mbappe's absence.
