Getafe Secures Permanent Transfer of Martin Satriano
Getafe has finalized an early summer signing, confirming that Martin Satriano, a standout performer and "hero" at the Santiago Bernabeu, will remain at the Coliseum on a permanent basis.
Satriano initially joined Getafe on loan from Olympique Lyon in January and immediately became a regular starter under coach Jose Bordalas. As one of five loan additions during the winter window, his impact has been considerable, contributing significantly to Getafe's ascent in the league table throughout February and March.
Getafe Finalizes Permanent Deal for Satriano
The loan agreement for Satriano included an option to buy, which Getafe has now exercised, making his move permanent. The Uruguayan forward has signed a four-year contract, tying him to the club until 2030. While the official transfer fee was not disclosed by Getafe, Transfermarkt reports that Los Azulones paid €6.5 million for his services.
Satriano's Impact at Getafe
Since his arrival on loan, Satriano has started all ten La Liga matches for Bordalas, missing only 13 minutes of playing time. During these appearances, he has scored three goals, including crucial winners against Villarreal and Real Madrid. His goal against Real Madrid, a spectacular volley, marked only Getafe's second-ever victory at the Bernabeu.
The Uruguayan striker has had a varied career trajectory since his €2.4 million transfer from Nacional to Inter in 2020. After spells with Brest, Empoli, and Lens, he joined Lyon on transfer deadline day last summer. However, with Endrick Felipe's arrival at Stade Gerland, Satriano once again sought a new challenge. At Getafe in 2026, he has thrived, forming an effective and hard-working attacking partnership with Luis Vazquez.
Getafe Aims to Retain Other Key Loan Players
Beyond Satriano's acquisition, other loan players like his strike partner Luis Vazquez and defender Zaid Romero have been instrumental in Getafe's recent turnaround. According to Marca, Vazquez and fellow loanees Veljko Birmancevic and Sebastian Boselli are all expected to stay for the next season. Although Getafe does not hold a buy option for Club Brugge's Romero, the club is reportedly keen on securing his permanent transfer as well.
