Endrick Felipe reflects on Real Madrid struggles – “It is difficult for anyone to play there”
Endrick Felipe's season has been marked by a clear contrast. Initially, he faced difficulties at Real Madrid, but his performance significantly improved after joining Lyon on a winter loan, where he has since excelled.
In an interview with WinWin (reported by Marca), Endrick elaborated on the shift in his career trajectory from Real Madrid to Lyon. He also shed light on his decision to move to the Ligue 1 club, which recently exited the Europa League at the hands of Celta Vigo.
“Consistent playing time is crucial,” Endrick stated. “There's a significant difference between playing 60 or 90 minutes and just getting 15 or 30. More minutes allow for greater risk-taking and alleviate the pressure to avoid errors. Before I made my decision, the sporting director and Paulo Fonseca engaged in extensive discussions with me, instilling a great deal of confidence. I understood I would gain more opportunities, though accompanied by high expectations.”
Endrick: Real Madrid's Global Dominance and Player Challenges
Endrick is set to rejoin Real Madrid this summer, aiming for a more prominent role. He reflected on his initial 18-month stint at the Bernabéu and confirmed he hasn't yet communicated with the new head coach, Alvaro Arbeloa. “We haven't spoken yet,” he remarked. “My current focus is entirely on Lyon. While I'll be supporting Real Madrid in the Champions League, my dedication right now is here. Real Madrid is the most successful club globally. It's challenging for any player, regardless of age, to secure a place there. They continuously seek out new talent, and fans eagerly anticipate their immediate impact, but that's not always feasible.”
Endrick Praises Carlo Ancelotti's Impact
Endrick was also questioned about Carlo Ancelotti, a coach he previously worked under at Real Madrid and continues to work with in the Brazilian national team setup. “I gained significant knowledge from him at Real Madrid,” Endrick shared. “I managed to score in every competition we participated in together. Our current working dynamic is different, lacking the daily interaction, but I'm confident we will achieve positive results together.”
