Real Madrid has endured a challenging latter half of the season, but this hasn’t been the case for the prodigious talent, Endrick Felipe. The 19-year-old attacker, who was loaned to Olympique Lyon during the winter transfer window, has begun to make a significant mark in European football during his spell in France.
In 19 appearances across all competitions, Endrick has impressively notched eight goals and provided seven assists. His most recent strike came in Lyon’s 4-2 victory over Rennes on Sunday, a result that has significantly boosted their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Following the match, Endrick spoke to the media and openly admitted his willingness to extend his stay at Lyon for another season. “My future? I feel very good, I feel very happy here,” he stated. “I’m happy with my teammates, and for the rest, I leave it to God. If I have to go back to Real Madrid, I’ll go back to Real Madrid; if I have to extend my contract here, it will happen, we’ll see. I’d like to stay here; everyone is doing their best to make me feel comfortable.”
Real Madrid’s Strategic Vision for Endrick
Real Madrid facilitated Endrick’s move to Lyon with the strategic aim of providing him with consistent playing time and fostering his development, which had reportedly plateaued since his 2024 transfer from Palmeiras. His current form suggests this plan has been highly successful, much to the satisfaction of the club’s management, who are pleased with the decision to sanction a temporary move.
Looking ahead to the next season, Real Madrid has already indicated that Endrick will be integrated into their first-team plans. His stellar performances at Lyon will undoubtedly enhance his standing within the club, and he is expected to be given opportunities to secure a regular starting role for Los Blancos when the 2026-27 campaign kicks off in August.
