In its fiscal year 2025 report, 11 bit studios has outlined its ambitions for the coming years, encompassing both its publishing endeavors and its internal development projects. The company has announced that a new game set within the “Frostpunk universe” is in development, alongside a “reimagining of This War of Mine,” the seminal title that put the Polish studio on the map in 2014. This roadmap, spanning from 2027 to 2031, also includes the development of new intellectual properties (IPs) and a commitment to increasing the regularity of its game releases while maintaining strict operational and cost discipline.

Of particular interest are the projects currently underway by 11 bit as a developer. The studio has four unannounced games in development, codenamed P12, P13, P14, and P15. Given this numbering, it’s inferred that Frostpunk 1886, the studio’s eleventh game, would be P11.

P13 is the aforementioned new Frostpunk title. According to Przemysław Marszał, CEO of 11 bit, this project will “expand the universe” of the series “into a new genre.” While specifics remain undisclosed, the potential for new gameplay mechanics and settings within the Frostpunk world is vast.

P15 represents the “reimagining of This War of Mine.” Marszał indicated that this project signifies 11 bit’s strategy to revisit and update some of its classic titles, going beyond simple “remasters.” This War of Mine, released in 2014, has become a critically acclaimed and influential game, studied extensively in both traditional gaming circles and academia. Both this reimagining and Frostpunk 1886 aim to offer a “fresh and modern interpretation” of the games that “defined 11 bit studios,” with a focus on multi-year development cycles and community engagement.

The remaining projects, P12 and P14, are described as “two completely new and original IPs.” Marszał explained that these represent an “investment in entirely new worlds” that are intended to be “the next chapters in the studio’s history.”

These development projects form one of three key pillars of 11 bit’s business strategy. In addition to in-house development, the company is pursuing “long-term monetization of successes within a Games as a Platform model” and “portfolio expansion through XDEV, its publishing division.” The XDEV publishing arm has brought forth several notable titles in recent years. Michał Drozdowski, Creative Director at 11 bit, stated that “creating a multidimensional ecosystem gives us the space to make brave creative decisions and to develop in new directions, while maintaining the consistency and quality that defines our approach to game creation.”
