FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Seth Jones`s clearest recollection is from when he was six years old, seated high up, 12 rows above the ice.

His father, Popeye Jones, and the entire family were there that evening to witness Joe Sakic`s memorable feat. Young Seth was positioned strategically, as expected, just above the blue line in the lower section of Denver`s Pepsi Center, watching his favorite team`s captain receive the 2001 Stanley Cup trophy following a hard-fought Game 7.

“Sakic handing the Cup to Ray Bourque. I believe there are few moments we`ve seen in this league that are more special,” states Jones, who is currently participating in his first Stanley Cup Final with the Florida Panthers.

“That was truly a pivotal moment, not just for me, but for many children in Colorado and within that youth hockey scene, inspiring them to take up the sport.”
