NASHVILLE — Something changed suddenly.
A great chance was missed.
And a rare feeling after a loss filled the Toronto Maple Leafs` locker room on Saturday night: Anger.
“We should be angry,” said John Tavares after his team`s 5-2 loss to the Nashville Predators, who are near the bottom of the league.
“It was a big opportunity to finish a very good week strongly, especially after we had been struggling and not playing the way we expect – up to our standards and the level we need every game.”
The team, who is aiming for the top spot in their division, took a 2-0 lead and controlled the first period. But then they let it all fall apart against a team expected to be in the draft lottery. This collapse was due to unnecessary penalties, poor handling of the puck, and weak defense.
