Ian Machado Garry is building excitement among fans for his upcoming fight this Saturday.
The rising welterweight star will return to the octagon in 2025 to face Carlos Prates in the main event of UFC Kansas City. This will be Garry`s first appearance since his fight with Shavkat Rakhmonov in December at UFC 310, where he suffered a decision defeat in five rounds.
Garry agreed to fight Prates on short notice after the main event between Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree was cancelled, and Prates was moved from UFC 314 due to Geoff Neal`s injury. In his new promo video, Garry emphasizes his willingness to take on tough fights.
The loss to Rakhmonov was the first in Garry`s career, ending a 15-fight winning streak, including eight wins in the UFC. The 27-year-old fighter boasts impressive victories over Neal, Daniel Rodriguez, Neil Magny, and Michael Page.
Prates will headline his second consecutive main event after a first-round knockout victory over Magny in November at UFC Vegas 100. The Contender Series participant has secured knockout victories in all four of his UFC fights.
