Vinc Pichel, a seasoned competitor with 12 bouts under the Ultimate Fighting Championship banner, has officially announced his retirement from professional mixed martial arts.
The 41-year-old veteran concluded his fighting career following a series of three consecutive losses, most recently a decision defeat to Rafa Garcia at UFC Mexico in March.
Sharing his decision via Instagram, Pichel expressed a range of emotions regarding his retirement. He conveyed feelings of both sadness and excitement about this new chapter.
Pichel extended profound gratitude to everyone who played a part in his MMA journey, emphasizing how much their support meant to him. He specifically thanked both those who were close to him and others who contributed to his development, stating their impact enabled “this kid from California” to achieve what he did.
Looking forward, Pichel plans to continue using his social media platforms. He also revealed intentions to write a book for his followers, detailing his experiences in MMA, potentially including unseen photos and videos.
Concluding his announcement, he offered a final piece of advice as he steps away: “Do what feels right, don’t apologize for being you, learn what you can from who you can, no regrets and most importantly, have fun!”
Pichel`s career began gaining traction as a cast member on Season 15 of The Ultimate Fighter reality show. After an initial loss in his official UFC debut in December 2012, he went on to secure victories in seven of his subsequent eight fights, including a notable decision win over Jim Miller at UFC 252 in August 2020.
Known by the moniker “From Hell,” Pichel compiled a 7-5 record during his tenure in the UFC. His last victory was a decision win against Austin Hubbard at UFC Vegas 34 in August 2021.
