Cheyanne Vlismas`s mixed martial arts career has come to an end.
The announcement was made on Monday via social media by the former UFC fighter, who was also a Contender Series contract winner. Known as “The Warrior Princess,” she compiled a professional record of 7 wins and 3 losses, including a 2-2 run during her four fights in the UFC.
In her social media post, Vlismas stated, “As of today I am officially retired.” She described the decision as “heart breaking” but necessary. “This is something that I need to do. After having my second child, my time is very limited,” she explained. “I am unable to give 100 percent into my training without giving less of myself to my babies. This decision comes as I am choosing to be the parent that I wish I always had growing up.”
Vlismas emphasized her love for fighting but stated her children are her priority. “As hard as this decision is because I love fighting so much with all my heart. My kids will always be put first,” she wrote. While acknowledging the possibility of a comeback, she revealed the determining factor: “I know I am young and I could make a comeback but my decision came down to could I leave my kids for 2 months for a training camp? I simply cannot do so.” She reflected that while she didn`t fulfill *all* her dreams, she reached the highest level and is now dedicating herself to motherhood. She concluded by thanking her fans.
Her journey to the UFC included earning a contract on Dana White`s Contender Series (DWCS) in August 2020, following a unanimous decision victory over Hilarie Rose. The 30-year-old fighter`s UFC tenure began with a loss to Montserrat Conejo Ruiz, followed by consecutive wins against Gloria de Paula and Mallory Martin.
Her last professional bout took place at UFC Vegas 66 in December 2022, where she lost a decision to Cory McKenna.
