A planned matchup has been removed from the upcoming UFC Vegas 107 event. Sources familiar with the promotion`s plans have confirmed that Jeremiah Wells will no longer compete against Andreas Gustafsson on the card set for May 31st at the UFC APEX. The reasons for Wells` withdrawal were not disclosed.
The UFC is actively searching for a new opponent to face Gustafsson for the event.
This fight would have marked Wells` first appearance in 15 months. The 38-year-old veteran had a strong start to his UFC career, winning his first four fights, but has since suffered two consecutive losses. His recent defeats include a submission loss and a split decision loss to Max Griffin in February 2024.
Andreas Gustafsson, a 34-year-old, is slated to make his promotional debut at this event. He earned his UFC contract last August on Dana White`s Contender Series with a second-round knockout victory. Gustafsson is currently on a three-fight win streak.
