Sports news » UFC Roster Changes: Choi, Belbita, and Nunes Released

The UFC has announced the departure of three fighters from its roster following recent losses in their respective bouts. Seung Woo Choi, Diana Belbita, and Istela Nunes are no longer under contract with the promotion.

Diana Belbita and Istela Nunes were released after suffering defeats at UFC Vegas 105 on April 5th. Belbita lost to Dione Barbosa, while Nunes was defeated by Loma Lookboonmee.

Belbita entered the UFC with a 13-4 record in 2019, but leaves with a 15-10 record after struggling to find consistency in the octagon. She lost six of her eight UFC fights, including her last three. Her UFC victories were by decision against Maria Oliveira and Hannah Goldy.

Istela Nunes, a former ONE Championship title challenger, has been removed from the roster after losing all five of her UFC strawweight fights since joining in October 2021.

Seung Woo Choi joined the UFC in 2019 and competed 11 times, facing well-known opponents such as Movsar Evloev and Alex Caceres. However, he only secured victory in four of those fights. The South Korean featherweight had a record of 1-5 since 2021, with his most recent loss being a first-round knockout against Kevin Vallejos in March.
