Former PFL heavyweight champion Ante Delija is poised to make his debut appearance in the Ultimate Fighting Championship on September 6th at UFC Paris. He is scheduled to face the seasoned heavyweight contender Marcin Tybura (27-9).
Delija (25-6) achieved significant success in the PFL, winning the heavyweight tournament crown in 2022 after finishing as a runner-up in 2021. His championship campaign included notable victories over opponents like Matheus Scheffel, Shelton Graves, and Renan Ferreira. In the 2022 final, he secured the title and a substantial $1,000,000 prize by defeating Scheffel once again.
Following a 1-1 record in his last two outings under the PFL banner, Delija bounced back impressively with a first-round knockout victory over Yorgan De Castro in April.
His opponent, Marcin Tybura, has been a steady presence in the UFC`s heavyweight rankings for close to a decade. The Polish veteran comes into this bout on a two-fight winning streak, having recently defeated undefeated prospects Mick Parkin and Jhonata Diniz. Tybura has secured three wins in his last four fights and his upcoming contest against Delija will mark his 23rd professional appearance inside the Octagon.
The UFC Paris fight card will be headlined by a middleweight clash between France`s own Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho.
