Ronaldo Rodriguez`s rise in popularity has encountered a slight setback.

The well-known Mexican fighter exceeded the flyweight limit at Friday`s official weigh-ins for UFC Mexico, held on Saturday at Arena CDMX. Rodriguez weighed in at 127 pounds, which is one pound over the allowed limit for a non-title flyweight fight. His opponent, Kevin Borjas, weighed in successfully at 125 pounds for their main card match.

Their bout will proceed at a catchweight of 127 pounds, with Rodriguez losing 20 percent of his fight earnings as a penalty.

In the main event, Brandon Moreno, a two-time flyweight titleholder, and Steve Erceg, a recent title challenger, both successfully weighed in at the championship weight of 125 pounds. Moreno is currently ranked No. 4 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Erceg is ranked No. 13.

Apart from Rodriguez, all other 25 fighters scheduled to compete on Saturday in Mexico City successfully made weight.
