UFC London: Submission Masterclass Earns Performance Bonuses

Sports news ยป UFC London: Submission Masterclass Earns Performance Bonuses

UFC London showcased impressive grappling skills, as all four “Performance of the Night” awards were granted for submissions.

Sean Brady, Alexia Thainara, Shauna Bannon, and Kevin Holland each received a $50,000 bonus for their outstanding performances at the UFC London event.

Since there was no “Fight of the Night” award, four individual bonuses were awarded instead.

Brady concluded the night with a remarkable finish of former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, achieving the first stoppage victory over Edwards in his career. This significant win positions Brady as a top contender in the welterweight division, marking his third consecutive victory.

Thainara and Bannon also secured their bonuses through submissions. Thainara, in her UFC debut, utilized her strong ground game to submit veteran Molly McCann (leading to McCann`s retirement), while Bannon recovered from a head kick to submit Puja Tomar with a clever armbar.

Unusually, Kevin Holland received a “Performance of the Night” bonus despite winning by decision, not knockout or submission. Holland demonstrated his grappling prowess by out-grappling Gunnar Nelson in their bout, ultimately winning by unanimous decision.

This marks the eighth time Holland has earned a “Performance of the Night” bonus in his UFC career.
