UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich Begins Jail Sentence for DWI

Sports news » UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich Begins Jail Sentence for DWI

UPDATE: Pat Miletich commenced a 30-day jail sentence on Wednesday. This term is a consequence of a previous driving while intoxicated (DWI) conviction and is not related to any new charges against the UFC Hall of Famer.

UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich is set to spend the next 30 days incarcerated.

According to public records, Miletich officially began serving a 30-day term, which is a mandatory part of his DWI case, at the Scott County Jail in Iowa. This sentence arises from a past conviction for driving under the influence.

Miletich recently entered a guilty plea in April concerning a similar offense. He received two years of probation from the Scott County Court as a result of an arrest in September 2023, according to reporting from local news outlet WHBF. During the September incident, Miletich was reportedly driving a pickup truck the wrong way before going over a “grass embankment” and was later found asleep in a Shell gas station parking lot with the truck still running and in drive.

The 57-year-old has accumulated three separate drunk driving charges since 2019. The arrest in September 2023 marked the third such charge. Notably, this occurred just one month prior to his final professional MMA bout at Caged Aggression 36, where he lost to Mike Jackson via second-round TKO after being unable to continue into the third round.

Throughout his career, Miletich competed 10 times within the UFC octagon. He held the welterweight championship title before losing it to Carlos Newton at UFC 31 in May 2004.
