The upcoming UFC Fight Night event scheduled to take place in Des Moines will feature a notable bantamweight contest between veteran fighter Miesha Tate and Yana Santos. This highly anticipated matchup is set to be a key bout at the event held at Wells Fargo Arena.
Former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is set to compete after a period of 17 months away from active competition. Her previous fight occurred in December 2023 at UFC Austin, where she secured a victory by stopping Julia Avila. This win was particularly significant as it was Tate`s first triumph since her return to the sport after a five-year retirement, which lasted from November 2016 until November 2021. The bout in Des Moines will mark Tate`s 14th appearance in the UFC Octagon.
Yana Santos is also making her initial appearance of 2025. The 35-year-old fighter recently ended a winless streak that spanned nearly four years by earning a decision victory over Chelsea Chandler in August 2024. Prior to this recent success, Santos, known by her moniker “Foxy,” had experienced losses in contests against prominent opponents, including Holly Holm, Irene Aldana, and Karol Rosa.
