Jackson McVey is now scheduled to make his promotional debut on a UFC pay-per-view event.

Sources with knowledge of the promotion`s plans have confirmed that McVey will step in on short notice, with less than two weeks before the event, to face Brunno Ferreira at UFC 318. The event is slated for July 19th at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans. The initial report of this booking came from Laerte Viana.

McVey is replacing Ikram Aliskerov, who announced on Instagram that he sustained a broken toe during his training camp for the fight against Ferreira. Aliskerov, an undefeated middleweight, was originally set to fight Christopher Ewert last weekend at UFC 317, but the bout was canceled when Ewert failed to make the middleweight weight limit. Aliskerov, known as “The Moose,” last competed in June at LFA 210, where he finished his opponent in just 98 seconds.

This upcoming fight marks Brunno Ferreira`s seventh appearance in the octagon as he pursues his fifth victory under the UFC banner. In his most recent contest at UFC 313, “The Hulk” secured a second-round submission win over Armen Petrosyan using a well-executed armbar.

UFC 318 is headlined by a highly anticipated trilogy fight for the BMF title, featuring what is expected to be the final career bout for Dustin Poirier as he takes on Max Holloway.
