The official main card lineup for UFC 316 has been finalized.
Scheduled for June 7th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, UFC 316 features two championship bouts headlining the pay-per-view event.
In the main event, Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili is set to defend his title in a rematch against Sean O’Malley, the fighter from whom he captured the belt. O`Malley, known as `Suga`, has not competed since their initial bout but receives an immediate title opportunity against Dvalishvili, who successfully defended his championship for the first time in January, securing a unanimous decision victory over Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 311.
The co-main event features the Women`s Bantamweight Championship, where Julianna Peña, having recently regained the title, will face former two-time PFL champion Kayla Harrison. Peña claimed her title by defeating Raquel Pennington via split decision at UFC 307. Harrison, holding a 2-0 record inside the Octagon, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Ketlen Vieira on the same UFC 307 card. The winner of this bout is widely expected to potentially welcome the legendary Amanda Nunes, considered the greatest female mixed martial artist of all time, back from her two-year retirement.
Also featured on the main card is a middleweight clash between veteran standout Kelvin Gastelum and promising contender Joe Pyfer. Additionally, former bantamweight title challenger Marlon Vera will square off against fellow top-10 ranked fighter Mario Bautista. Kicking off the main card is a welterweight bout featuring Vicente Luque against Kevin Holland.
UFC 316 is scheduled to take place on June 7 and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ Pay-Per-View.
