UFC 316: Harrison vs Pena – Bantamweight Title Clash

Sports news » UFC 316: Harrison vs Pena – Bantamweight Title Clash

Kayla Harrison is entering her first UFC title fight as a significant favorite to win the championship at UFC 316.

UFC CEO Dana White recently announced that Harrison will challenge Julianna Peña for the bantamweight title. This co-main event is scheduled for UFC 316 on June 7 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

According to FanDuel, Harrison is listed as a -590 favorite to become the 135-pound champion. Peña is a +370 underdog as she prepares for her first title defense. These odds suggest Harrison has an 85.5 percent chance of defeating Peña. A successful $100 bet on Peña would return a profit of $370.

Peña is familiar with being a major underdog. She achieved a historic upset in UFC title fights when she defeated Amanda Nunes to win her first belt at UFC 269 in December 2021. In that fight, Peña was an underdog with odds of +700.

Harrison`s upcoming fight will be her third appearance in the octagon, following a successful 15-1 record in the PFL. In her UFC debut at UFC 300, she defeated Holly Holm a year prior. She then secured a decision victory against Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307 in October, the same event where Peña regained her title by defeating Raquel Pennington.
