Approximately two years ago, upon deciding to re-enter the golf equipment industry, specifically the putter segment, Vikash Sanyal recalled invaluable lessons learned in his youth as a salesman in the 80s and 90s from industry titans such as Gary Adams (founder of TaylorMade Golf) and Ely Callaway (founder of Callaway Golf).
Sanyal, who co-founded the Odyssey Golf putter brand in 1991 (with Gary Adams and Brad) and the Never Compromise putter brand in 1997, shared wisdom he gained from Callaway and Adams: “When you are a small player competing against giants, don’t expect to succeed by simply doing the same thing, or even slightly better. “I believe the LPGA has always been undervalued,” Sanyal stated. “I am a strong supporter of the LPGA Tour. It was a significant factor in the success of both Odyssey and Never Compromise.”
Indeed, Juli Inkster triumphed at the 1999 U.S. Women’s Open with a Never Compromise putter. Se Ri Pak secured victory at the 2002 McDonald’s LPGA Championship also using a Never Compromise putter. By August 2000, Never Compromise putters had accounted for a total of 38 victories across the LPGA, PGA, and Senior PGA tours.

“My initial testing method was very basic. I would present putters and instruct, ‘Aim towards that hole.’ Once I ascertained their target line, I would literally get on my hands and knees and place a tee against the face of their putter. We would then step back to observe their alignment.”
For The Chamber Putter, Sanyal replaced the tees with a compact laser that attaches directly behind the putter face, providing instant and precise feedback on alignment accuracy.
“Our laser is a magnetic device that simply snaps onto the back of the putter head in three seconds,” Sanyal explained. “There is both an outdoor and an indoor laser. It’s quite literally ‘muscle memory’ for your eyes.”
Sanyal stated that the laser confirms what research indicates: fewer than one percent of golfers achieve accurate alignment at address. Until alignment is precise, nothing else truly matters.
“The laser,” Sanyal affirmed, “never lies.”
