Olympique Marseille, the prominent Ligue 1 club, announced on Monday the departure of its president, Pablo Longoria. His tenure, marked by a series of coaching changes, concluded without any major titles or the restoration of stability at the nine-time French champions and 1993 Champions League winners.

The club confirmed reaching an agreement on the terms of Longoria's exit. Longoria initially joined Marseille in 2020 as a sporting director. He ascended to the presidency less than a year later, following a period of fan unrest that saw supporters protest against the then-president, Jacques-Henri Eyraud, including a raid on the club's training facilities.
