Tampa Bay responded when Brandon Hagel scored his 34th goal of the season at the seven-minute mark of the second period, narrowing the gap.
Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tampa Bay`s goalie, stopped 17 shots during the game. The Lightning were playing the second game of a four-game road trip and entered the game on a four-game winning streak.
Looking Ahead
The Lightning will face Buffalo on Saturday night. The Senators are set to host Florida on Saturday and then Columbus on Sunday night.
