The Seattle Kraken have finalized a deal with one of their promising young blue-liners.

The team announced Sunday they have signed defenseman Kaden Hammell to a three-year, entry-level contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $908,333.

Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill commented in a team statement, “Kaden made significant progress in his development this year. He served as a leader for the Silvertips and elevated his performance during the playoffs. We are pleased to secure him under contract for the upcoming three years.”

The 20-year-old enjoyed a strong season playing for the Everett Silvertips, accumulating 38 points (10 goals, 28 assists) over 59 regular-season games. He further contributed with 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 13 playoff contests.

Hammell, who hails from Langley, British Columbia, was selected by the Kraken 148th overall in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
