Sean Brady delivered a high-level performance against Leon Edwards, firmly establishing himself as a top contender in the welterweight division.
In the main event of UFC London on Saturday, Brady demonstrated dominance over the former champion, controlling Edwards for the first three rounds and appearing headed for a clear decision victory. However, the Philadelphia fighter took matters into his own hands, securing a guillotine choke submission in the fourth round.
This marked the first time Edwards has ever lost a fight via knockout or submission.
Brady`s fellow fighters expressed widespread admiration for his comprehensive victory. Notable figures like Henry Cejudo, Gilbert Burns, Chris Weidman, Stephen Thompson, and Johnny Eblen all praised his performance. Cejudo suggested a matchup between Brady and Shavkat Rakhmonov to determine the leading challenger for the welterweight title. Eblen and Terrance McKinney went further, proposing that Brady should be granted the next title shot outright.
