The community of Saint-Boniface in Quebec is celebrating a major win as they have been announced as the Kraft Hockeyville 2025 champions.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman revealed the exciting news during Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet, declaring Saint-Boniface as the top community out of four finalists.
Saint-Boniface competed against Crossfield, Alberta, Honeywood, Ontario, and Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, ultimately winning the coveted title.
As Kraft Hockeyville winners, Saint-Boniface will be awarded $250,000 to invest in upgrades for their local arena. Additionally, the community will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host a pre-season NHL game.
The other three finalists will also benefit, each receiving $25,000 for arena improvements. Furthermore, all four communities will be provided with $10,000 worth of new hockey equipment thanks to the NHLPA Goals & Dreams program.
Last year`s Kraft Hockeyville winner was Elliot Lake, Ontario, with a pre-season game subsequently held in Sudbury, Ontario, featuring the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators.
