BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tage Thompson`s goal at 1:23 into the third period secured the lead for the Buffalo Sabres, as Lindy Ruff achieved a milestone, becoming only the second NHL coach to reach 600 wins with a single franchise. The Sabres defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Jack Quinn and Jacob Bernard-Docker also contributed to Buffalo`s score. Goaltender James Reimer made 30 saves, marking his first time this season winning two consecutive starts. Lindy Ruff, currently in his first season of his return to Buffalo, now holds a record of 600-467-90 with 78 ties with the Sabres.
