Edmonton Oilers fans are waiting for news regarding the condition of their two key players, as the results could significantly impact their season.
It’s reported that Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are scheduled to undergo imaging on Friday to determine the extent of their injuries and estimate their return to play, according to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff.
McDavid’s injury seemed to occur during the second period of Thursday’s game against the Jets.
During a play in the Winnipeg zone, Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey made contact with McDavid, appearing to catch him with his stick around his midsection.
McDavid immediately showed signs of discomfort. He remained on the bench for the rest of the second period but did not return for the third and was quickly ruled out for the game.
Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters after the game that he did not have an update on McDavid’s status.
