
Veteran forward Reilly Smith, one of the original members of the Vegas Golden Knights, is set to remain with the team. He has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract extension valued at $2 million, opting not to explore free agency.
Smith was a key part of the Golden Knights from their inaugural 2017 season until 2023. After stints with the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers, the 34-year-old forward returned to Vegas via a trade at the 2025 deadline.
Last season, split between the Rangers and Golden Knights, Smith recorded 13 goals and 40 points in 79 games.
Over his 14-season NHL career, the Etobicoke, Ontario native has accumulated 226 goals and 553 points across 919 games.
Before his initial tenure with the Golden Knights in 2017, he played for the Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, and Dallas Stars.
