Raul Rosas Jr. experienced a tense moment towards the end of his fight with Vince Morales at UFC Mexico, but ultimately earned a unanimous decision victory, adding another win to his record.

Rosas started the fight strongly, securing multiple takedowns and coming close to submission finishes as he controlled Morales on the ground. In the third round, Morales went all out and nearly locked in a D’Arce choke that could have ended the fight. However, Rosas managed to escape and survive until the end of the fight.

All three judges scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Rosas, who was thrilled to win in front of an enthusiastic Mexican crowd.

“Dana [White], thank you for giving me the opportunity to compete here tonight and redeem myself in front of my Mexican fans,” Rosas said, referring to a previous UFC Mexico event he had to withdraw from due to illness. “I’m only 20 years old, with five wins in the UFC. Watch me grow over the years. Whoever will lead me to that championship belt, let’s do it.”

Early in the fight, Rosas achieved a takedown and landed effective punches and elbows while Morales was defending on his back. Despite Morales’s defense, Rosas maintained relentless pressure, constantly scrambling and gaining dominant positions on the ground.

Rosas`s aggressive offense briefly created an opening for Morales, who executed a reversal and attempted a Peruvian necktie submission just before the first round concluded.

As the fight progressed, Rosas continued to press forward. With Morales not posing a significant threat on their feet, Rosas was able to take the fight back to the ground. While Morales made him work, Rosas maintained control and accumulated points on the judges` scorecards.

Desperate for a late comeback in the final round, Morales came close to a finish when he secured an anaconda choke, transitioning into a D’Arce choke, and for a moment it seemed he might finish Rosas. However, Rosas remained calm, kept moving, and eventually broke free to regain top position.

Morales made a final attempt to secure a submission just before the bell, but Rosas held on to secure the victory.

Rosas has now achieved four consecutive wins since his only career loss and continues to improve with each fight. With the UFC returning to Mexico in September for another Noche UFC event, Rosas might be hoping to compete there again after receiving a great reception for his latest performance on Saturday.
