The Montreal Canadiens are bolstering their roster as they push towards the playoffs.
Oliver Kapanen, a forward, is set to rejoin the Canadiens. This follows the end of his season with Timra IK in the SHL, the team announced on Wednesday.
Kapanen, 21, started the season with Montreal, making their opening-night roster in October. However, he was later loaned back to the SHL team.
Before returning to Europe, he played 12 games for the Canadiens this season, contributing two assists. In his time back with Timra IK, he was productive, scoring 15 goals and providing 20 assists in 36 games.
The Canadiens drafted Kapanen in the second round, 64th overall, at the 2021 NHL Draft.
