The upcoming 2026 OFX Irish Legends tournament is set to captivate golf enthusiasts at the renowned Carton House in County Kildare, Ireland. Officially announced this spring, the event will be held from July 9th to 12th on the challenging Montgomerie Course. This prestigious tournament is a key fixture in the Staysure Legends Tour, a global circuit that showcases over 50 of golf’s most celebrated figures, including notable names like Colin Montgomerie, Paul McGinley, Ian Woosnam, and Michael Campbell.
Nestled west of Dublin, Carton House boasts an expansive 1,100-acre parkland resort featuring two distinct golf courses. One was designed by golf legend Mark OโMeara, while the other bears the mark of Colin Montgomerie, recognized for its demanding layout characterized by deep pot bunkers and narrow fairways.
Paul McGinley commented on the course’s demands, stating, “It requires good iron play, and you can get what you need out of the course. Itโs a tough golf course and it will produce a really good winner.” He further expressed his sentiment about the venue, adding, “Carton House is an incredible venue with so much history. All the great Irish players have passed through here whilst on the Golf Ireland programs. Itโs a โfull circleโ moment coming back to play here.”
Spectators can enjoy the tournament free of charge. Tickets can be secured by registering on the Staysure Legends Tour website.
Previous winners of the OFX Irish Legends include accomplished golfers such as James Kingston, Adilson da Silva, and Peter Baker. This year, Paul McGinley will be aiming to make history by becoming the first Irish champion to win the tournament on home turf.
As part of the Staysure Legends Tour, the event will once again provide exclusive “Playing Experiences.” These opportunities allow amateur golfers to compete alongside some of the sport’s most esteemed legends, offering an intimate and memorable experience for everyday players to share the course with golf icons.
Tim Mullen, managing partner of Belmullet Hospitality Group, the owners of Carton House, highlighted the venue’s potential, stating, “We saw the success of the KPMG Womenโs Irish Open here in 2024 and 2025, and it put us on a global stage. The Legends event will do the same for us.”
