THE PLAYERS Championship 2026 Field Announced
THE PLAYERS Championship has officially unveiled the complete field for its 2026 event. The prestigious tournament is set to return to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass from March 10-15.
The 123-player field boasts an impressive lineup, including 47 of the top 50 golfers in the Official World Golf Ranking, with participants hailing from 24 different countries.
Brooks Koepka has been added to the field as part of his return to the PGA TOUR through the Returning Member Program, ensuring his inclusion does not displace a current TOUR member. To facilitate three-player groupings, the field was expanded to 123, with Patton Kizzire and Seamus Power, the first two alternates at the time, also securing spots.
Key Highlights of the Field:
- Seven Past Champions: The roster includes former THE PLAYERS champions Rory McIlroy (2019, 2025), Scottie Scheffler (2023, 2024), Justin Thomas (2021), Si Woo Kim (2017), Jason Day (2016), Rickie Fowler (2015), and Adam Scott (2004).
- Pursuit of History: Two-time champions Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are both vying to become the first players to win THE PLAYERS three times at TPC Sawgrass, a feat not achieved since Jack Nicklaus’s three victories (1974, 1976, 1978).
- Most Appearances: 2004 champion Adam Scott, who qualified via his FedExCup standing, is set to make his 24th tournament appearance, the most of any player in the current field. Justin Rose follows with 21 appearances.
- Tournament Debuts: Fourteen players will be making their first appearance at THE PLAYERS Championship. This group includes three PGA TOUR winners, and seven PGA TOUR rookies.
