Nick Kyrgios is planning a return to the French Open and then Wimbledon, provided he is fit to compete.
The Australian, 30, has entered the men’s doubles competition at Roland Garros. This will be his first appearance on the red clay courts of Paris since 2017.

He will team up with fellow countryman Jordan Thompson after his usual partner, Max Purcell, became unavailable due to an 18-month doping ban that was backdated to December 2024.
Kyrgios has had limited playing time recently due to a series of wrist and knee injuries. He is entered in the main draw in the French capital based on a protected ranking.
However, there is also a possibility he could participate in singles at Wimbledon next month, where he reached the final in 2022.
Kyrgios, who also intends to play at Queen`s, stated: “The French Open was never really on the cards.
“But after the stuff with Max Purcell, Jordan was looking for a partner and he asked me if I wanted to play.
“We’ve played at the French Open before, so it’ll be good to get out there and play with another fellow Aussie and have a bit of fun.
“I’m excited to get out there and play. I’m hitting the ball well, it’s just a matter of playing matches.
“With this part of my career I’m excited to travel the world and do some fun things whilst I’m out there.”
The French Open is scheduled to begin on Sunday, May 25. This year, 14-time champion Rafa Nadal will be honoured following his retirement last year.
Kyrgios’s most recent competitive appearance was at the Miami Open in March.
At Miami, the former Wimbledon finalist won his first-round match against Mackenzie McDonald before losing in straight sets to Karen Khachanov.
That victory over McDonald was Kyrgios` first singles win since October 2022.
The former Australian Open men`s doubles champion has been significantly affected by injuries, playing just one match across the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Last year, he worked as a BBC commentator at Wimbledon after a wrist injury prevented him from playing in the tournament.
